Rate alerts

Set a threshold on a currency and let React Box watch it. As soon as the official rate crosses it, you are notified on the channel of your choice.

Watching without watching

An alert replaces the daily habit of checking a rate. You decide the currency, the rate to follow and the threshold that matters to you — say, a euro above a certain level before paying a foreign supplier. React Box compares the rates published each day against your thresholds and only reaches out when the condition is met.

Note

Alerts are personal: they follow your user account, not a specific organization. They are open to accounting firms and to businesses holding the Analytics module.

Composing an alert

Five settings are enough to describe what you want to watch.

  • Currency — the currency to watch, necessarily other than the dirham.
  • Watched rate — the transfer rate, or the banknote rate on the buy or the sell side.
  • Condition — fire when the rate goes above or below the threshold.
  • Threshold — the value of one unit of the currency in dirham from which you want to be warned.
  • Daily recap — get a reminder every day while the condition holds, instead of a single notification.

Where to get notified

Pick one or several channels per alert.

  • Web notification

The alert appears in the app's notification center, like the other events of your organization.

  • Mobile notification

A push notification on your phone, handy when the currency decision cannot wait until you are back at the office.

  • Email

A message sent to your account address, useful to keep a written trace of the crossing.

When an alert fires

Firing follows the alert changing state, not the standing state of the rate.

You are notified at the moment the rate crosses your threshold. An alert created while the condition is already met fires on the next published rate, without waiting for a crossing. While the rate stays on the same side, the alert does not repeat — unless you turned on the daily recap. If the rate moves back to the other side and then crosses the threshold again, a new notification goes out. An alert can be paused at any time without being deleted, then resumed as it was.

Tip

Since rates are published once per business day, an alert reflects daily moves rather than intraday swings.

Creating a first alert

Three steps from the Exchange rates page.

  1. 1

Open Exchange rates and click "New alert"

The alerts card sits below the history chart and the converter.

  2. 2

Choose the currency, the rate and the threshold

State whether you want to be warned above or below, then the value in dirham.

  3. 3

    Select your channels

Web, mobile, email — or several at once. The alert is active as soon as it is created.
