Messaging

Overview

React Box messaging connects every client business to its accounting firm through a dedicated discussion thread. Text exchanges, document requests, and realtime notifications — all your collaboration in one place.

Updated on August 14, 2026

What messaging is for

Replace tangled email and WhatsApp threads with a structured, traceable conversation linked to the vault.

  • Centralize: one conversation per business–agency pair, no scattered threads.
  • Request: your accountant can issue a document request directly inside the chat, with the link to the vault built in.
  • Track: every message, edit, and read receipt is timestamped and preserved.

The "1 client × 1 agency" model

A conversation always connects exactly two organizations: your business and your agency. No cross-client groups, no chats between multiple agencies. Several people can participate on the business side and on the agency side, but the perimeter stays bilateral.

Note

If you are an agency, you see one conversation per client. If you are a business, you see one conversation for your linked agency.

The core building blocks

Four concepts structure messaging. The rest of the documentation relies on this vocabulary.

  • Conversations

The bilateral thread between a business and its agency, with its subject, its participants, and its state (open or closed).

  • Messages

Free text, attachments, or document requests — editable, deletable, traceable.

  • Document requests

A structured request asking your client to file a specific document in the vault.

  • Notifications

Mentions, received requests, read receipts — broadcast in realtime and reachable via email, in-app, and mobile push.

Quick start

Three minutes to open your first conversation with your agency (or your client).

  1. 1

    Open messaging

From your dashboard, click "Messages" in the sidebar.

  2. 2

    Start a conversation

Pick your agency (on the business side) or your client (on the agency side), give it a subject, and create the conversation.

  3. 3

    Send a message

Type your message, attach a file or a vault document if needed, then send. Your counterpart is notified in realtime.
