# Contacts

A third party, especially a company, often has several people to deal with. Contacts attach those people to the record, with their details and their role.

## What contacts are for

Rather than cramming every detail into the main record, you create one contact per person: your supplier's accountant, the buyer at your customer, the director. Each has their own details, which avoids confusion when it is time to write or follow up.

## A contact's information

Each contact carries an identity and ways to reach them.

* Title, first and last name — or a display name when the contact is a role rather than a person.
* Job title and department, to place the contact within the third party's organization.
* Email address, format-validated to avoid typos.
* Landline and mobile, in international format.

## Special roles

Two markers single out the key contacts.

* Primary contact  
The third party's reference person. One primary contact per record, highlighted everywhere.
* Reminder recipient  
The contact who will receive reminders related to the third party, independently of the primary contact.

## As many contacts as you need

There is no limit to the number of contacts on a third party. You can add, edit or remove them at any time from the record, without affecting the history of documents already issued.
